Parashat Text with Readers and Daily Portions (Reader 1 Starts on Saturday Evening)

Noach “Rest”
Gen 6:9 – 11:32 Isaiah 54:1 – 55:5

Reader 1 (Evening Portion)

Gen 6:9 These are the generations of Noach: Noach was a just man and perfect in his
generations, and Noach walked with Elohim.
Gen 6:10 And Noach begot three sons, * Shem, * Cham, and Yafet.
Gen 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before Elohim, and the earth was filled with violence.
Gen 6:12 And Elohim looked upon * the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had
corrupted * his way upon the earth.
Gen 6:13 And Elohim said unto Noach, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is
filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

(Morning Portion)

Gen 6:14 Make you an ark of gopher wood; rooms shall you make * in the ark, and shall pitch it
within and outside with pitch.
Gen 6:15 And this is the fashion which you shall make it of: The length of the ark shall be three
hundred cubits (450ft), the breadth of it fifty cubits (75ft), and the height of it thirty cubits
(45ft).
Gen 6:16 A window shall you make to the ark, and in a cubit (1.5ft) shall you finish it above; and
the door of the ark shall you set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories
shall you make it.
Gen 6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring * a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh,
wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall
die.
Gen 6:18 But with you will I establish * my covenant; and you shall come into the ark, you, and
your sons, and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.
Gen 6:19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to
keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.
Gen 6:20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the
earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto you, to keep them alive.
Gen 6:21 And take you unto you of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to you; and it
shall be for food for you, and for them.
Gen 6:22 Thus did Noach; according to all that Elohim commanded him, so did He.

Reader 2 (Evening Portion)

Gen 7:1 And YHWH said unto Noach, Come you and all your house into the ark; for you have I
seen righteous before me in this generation.
Gen 7:2 Of every clean beast you shall take to you by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
Gen 7:3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the
face of all the earth.
Gen 7:4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
Gen 7:5 And Noach did according unto all that YHWH commanded him.
Gen 7:6 And Noach was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
Gen 7:7 And Noach went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the
ark, because of the waters of the flood.
Gen 7:8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that
creeps upon the earth,
Gen 7:9 There went in two and two unto Noach into the ark, the male and the female, as Elohim
had commanded * Noach.

(Morning Portion)

Gen 7:10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noach’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of
the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the
windows of heaven were opened.
Gen 7:12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
Gen 7:13 In the selfsame day entered Noach, and Shem, and Cham, and Yafet, the sons of
Noach, and Noach’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;
Gen 7:14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every
creeping thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every
bird of every sort.
Gen 7:15 And they went in unto Noach into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the
breath of life.
Gen 7:16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as Elohim had commanded
him: and YHWH shut him in.

Reader 3 (Evening Portion)

Gen 7:17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bore up *
the ark, and it was lifted up above the earth.
Gen 7:18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went
upon the face of the waters.
Gen 7:19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were
under the whole heaven, were covered.
Gen 7:20 Fifteen cubits (22.5 ft) upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
Gen 7:21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast,
and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth, and every man:
Gen 7:22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
Gen 7:23 * Every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both
man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were
destroyed from the earth: and Noach only remained alive, and they that were with him in
the ark.
Gen 7:24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth a hundred and fifty days.

(Morning Portion)

Gen 8:1 And Elohim remembered * Noach, and every living thing, and all the beasts that were
with him in the ark: and Elohim made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters
subsided;
Gen 8:2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain
from heaven was restrained;
Gen 8:3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the
hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.
Gen 8:4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon
the mountains of Ararat.
Gen 8:5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the
first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
Gen 8:6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noach opened * the window of the ark
which he had made:
Gen 8:7 And he sent forth * a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up
from off the earth.
Gen 8:8 Also he sent forth * a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face
of the ground;
Gen 8:9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the
ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took
her, and pulled her in * unto him into the ark.
Gen 8:10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth * the dove out of the ark;
Gen 8:11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf
plucked off: so Noach knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
Gen 8:12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth * the dove; which returned not
again unto him any more.
Gen 8:13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first
day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noach removed * the
covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.
Gen 8:14 And in the second month, on the twenty seventh day of the month, was the earth
dried

(Morning Portion)

Gen 8:20 And Noach built an altar unto YHWH; and took of every clean beast, and of every
clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
Gen 8:21 And YHWH smelled a sweet * savor; and YHWH said in His heart, I will not again
curse * the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from
his youth; neither will I again smite any more * every thing living, as I have done.
Gen 8:22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and
winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Gen 9:1 And Elohim blessed * Noach and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and replenish * the earth.
Gen 9:2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and
upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fish of the
sea; into your hand are they delivered.
Gen 9:3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; even as the green herb have I given
you * all things.
Gen 9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall you not eat.
Gen 9:5 And surely * your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I
require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require * the life
of man.
Gen 9:6 Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of Elohim
made He * man.
Gen 9:7 And you, be you fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and
multiply therein.

Reader 5 (Evening Portion)

Gen 9:8 And Elohim spoke unto Noach, and to his sons with him, saying,
Gen 9:9 And I, behold, I establish * my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
Gen 9:10 And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every
beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.
Gen 9:11 And I will establish * my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more
by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

(Morning Portion)

Gen 9:12 And Elohim said, This is the sign of the covenant which I make between me and you
and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
Gen 9:13 I do set * my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between me and
the earth.
Gen 9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be
seen in the cloud:
Gen 9:15 And I will remember * my covenant, which is between me and you and every living
creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
Gen 9:16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the
everlasting covenant between Elohim and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the
earth.
Gen 9:17 And Elohim said unto Noach, This is the sign of the covenant, which I have
established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

Reader 6 (Evening Portion)

Gen 9:18 And the sons of Noach, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Cham, and Yafet:
and Cham is the father of Kena’an.
Gen 9:19 These are the three sons of Noach: and of them was the whole earth overspread.
Gen 9:20 And Noach began to be a husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
Gen 9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
Gen 9:22 And Cham, the father of Kena’an, saw * the nakedness of his father, and told his two
brethren outside.
Gen 9:23 And Shem and Yafet took * a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went
backward, and covered * the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and
they saw not their father’s nakedness.
Gen 9:24 And Noach awoke from his wine, and knew * what his younger son had done unto
him.
Gen 9:25 And he said, Cursed be Kena’an; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
Gen 9:26 And he said, Blessed be YHWH Elohim of Shem; and Kena’an shall be his servant.
Gen 9:27 Elohim shall enlarge Yafet, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Kena’an shall
be his servant.
Gen 9:28 And Noach lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.
Gen 9:29 And all the days of Noach were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.
Gen 10:1 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noach, Shem, Cham, and Yafet: and unto
them were sons born after the flood.
Gen 10:2 The sons of Yafet; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Yavan, and Tuval, and
Meshekh, and Tiras.
Gen 10:3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Rifat, and Togarmah.
Gen 10:4 And the sons of Yavan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
Gen 10:5 By these were the isles of the nations divided in their lands; every one after his tongue,
after their families, in their nations.
Gen 10:6 And the sons of Cham; Kush, and Mitzrayim, and Put, and Kena’an.
Gen 10:7 And the sons of Kush; Seva, and Chavilah, and Savtah, and Ra’mah, and Savtekha:
and the sons of Ra’mah; Sheva, and Dedan.
Gen 10:8 And Kush begot * Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
Gen 10:9 He was a mighty hunter before YHWH: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the
mighty hunter before YHWH.
Gen 10:10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Bavel, and Erekh, and Akkad, and Kalneh, in
the land of Shin’ar.
Gen 10:11 Out of that land went forth Ashur, and built * Nineveh, and the city Rechovot, and
Kelach,
Gen 10:12 And Resen between Nineveh and Kelach: the same is a great city.
Gen 10:13 And Mitzrayim begot * Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehavim, and Naftuchim,
Gen 10:14 And Patrusim, and Kasluchim, (out of whom came Pelishtim,) and Kaftorim.
Gen 10:15 And Kena’an begot * Tzidon his firstborn, and Chet,
Gen 10:16 And the Yevusi, and the Amori, and the Girgashi,
Gen 10:17 And the Chivvi, and the Arki, and the Sini,
Gen 10:18 And the Arvadi, and the Tzemari, and the Chamati: and afterward were the families
of the Kena’anim spread abroad.
Gen 10:19 And the border of the Kena’anim was from Tzidon, as you comest to Gerar, unto Aza;
as you go, unto Sodom, and Amorrah, and Admah, and Tzevoyim, even unto Lasha.
Gen 10:20 These are the sons of Cham, after their families, after their tongues, in their
countries, and in their nations.
Gen 10:21 Unto Shem also the father of all the children of Ever, the brother of Yafet the elder,
even to him were children born.
Gen 10:22 The children of Shem; Elam, and Ashur, and Arpakhshad, and Lud, and Aram.
Gen 10:23 And the children of Aram; Utz, and Chul, and Geter, and Mash.
Gen 10:24 And Arpakhshad begot Shelach; and Shelach begot Ever.
Gen 10:25 And unto Ever were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was
the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Yoktan.
Gen 10:26 And Yoktan begot Almodad, and Shelef, and Chatzarmavat, and Yerach,
Gen 10:27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
Gen 10:28 And Oval, and Avima’el, and Sheva,
Gen 10:29 And Ofir, and Chavilah, and Yovav: all these were the sons of Yoktan.
Gen 10:30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as you go unto Sefar a mount of the east.
Gen 10:31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands,
after their nations.
Gen 10:32 These are the families of the sons of Noach, after their generations, in their nations:
and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

Reader 7 (6th Day Morning Portion)

Gen 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
Gen 11:2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the
land of Shin’ar; and they dwelt there.
Gen 11:3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly.
And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
Gen 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto
heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole
earth.
Gen 11:5 And YHWH came down to see * the city and the tower, which the children of men
built.
Gen 11:6 And YHWH said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this
they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined
to do.
Gen 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not
understand one another’s speech.
Gen 11:8 So YHWH scattered them abroad * from there upon the face of all the earth: and they
stopped building the city.
Gen 11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Bavel; because YHWH did there confound the
language of all the earth: and from there did YHWH scatter them abroad upon the face of all
the earth.
Gen 11:10 These are the generations of Shem: Shem was a hundred years old, and begat * Arpakhshad two years after the flood:
Gen 11:11 And Shem lived after he begat Arpakhshad five hundred years, and begat sons and
daughters.
Gen 11:12 And Arpakhshad lived thirty five years, and begat * Shelach:
Gen 11:13 And Arpakhshad lived after he begat * Shelach four hundred and three years, and
begat sons and daughters.
Gen 11:14 And Shelach lived thirty years, and begat * Ever:
Gen 11:15 And Shelach lived after he begat * Ever four hundred and three years, and begat sons
and daughters.
Gen 11:16 And Ever lived thirty four years, and begat * Peleg:
Gen 11:17 And Ever lived after he begat * Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons
and daughters.
Gen 11:18 And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat * Re’u:
Gen 11:19 And Peleg lived after he begat * Re’u two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and
daughters.
Gen 11:20 And Re’u lived thirty two years, and begat * Serug:
Gen 11:21 And Re’u lived after he begat * Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons
and daughters.
Gen 11:22 And Serug lived thirty years, and begat * Nachor:
Gen 11:23 And Serug lived after he begat * Nachor two hundred years, and begat sons and
daughters.
Gen 11:24 And Nachor lived twenty nine years, and begat * Terach:
Gen 11:25 And Nachor lived after he begat * Terach a hundred and nineteen years, and begat
sons and daughters.
Gen 11:26 And Terach lived seventy years, and begat *Avram, * Nachor, and Charan.
Gen 11:27 Now these are the generations of Terach: Terach begat *Avram, * Nachor, and
Charan; and Charan begat * Lot.
Gen 11:28 And Charan died before his father Terach in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the
Kasdim.
Gen 11:29 And Avram and Nachor took them wives: the name of Avram’s wife was Sarai; and
the name of Nachor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Charan, the father of Milcah, and the
father of Yiskah.
Gen 11:30 But Sarai was barren; she had no child.
Gen 11:31 And Terach took * Avram his son, and Lot the son of Charan his son’s son, and Sarai
his daughter in law, his son Avram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the
Kasdim, to go into the land of Kena’an; and they came unto Charan, and dwelt there.
Gen 11:32 And the days of Terach were two hundred and five years: and Terach died in Charan.

Haftarah (Shabbat Evening Portion)

Isa 54:1 Sing, O barren, you that did not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you that
did not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the
married wife, saith YHWH.
Isa 54:2 Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of your
habitations: spare not, lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes;
Isa 54:3 For you shall break forth on the right hand and on the left; and your seed shall inherit
the nations, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
Isa 54:4 Fear not; for you shall not be ashamed: neither be you confounded; for you shall not be
put to shame: for you shall forget the shame of your youth, and shall not remember the
reproach of your widowhood any more.
Isa 54:5 For your Maker is your husband; YHWH Tsebeoath is His name; and your Redeemer
the Holy One of Yisra’el; The Elohim of the whole earth shall He be called.
Isa 54:6 For YHWH has called you as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of
youth, when you were refused, saith your Elohim.
Isa 54:7 For a small moment have I forsaken you; but with great mercies will I gather you.
Isa 54:8 In a little wrath I hid my face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness
will I have mercy on you, saith YHWH your Redeemer.
Isa 54:9 For this is as the waters of Noach unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of
Noach should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with
you, nor rebuke you.
Isa 54:10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not
depart from you, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith YHWH that has
mercy on you.
Isa 54:11 O you afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay your stones
with fair colors, and lay your foundations with sapphires.
Isa 54:12 And I will make your windows of rubies, and your gates of emeralds, and all your
borders of pleasant stones.
Isa 54:13 And all your children shall be taught of YHWH; and great shall be the peace of your
children.
Isa 54:14 In righteousness shall you be established: you shall be far from oppression; for you
shall not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near you.
Isa 54:15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather
together against you shall fall for your sake.
Isa 54:16 Behold, I have created the smith that blows the coals in the fire, and that brings forth
an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise
against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of YHWH,
and their righteousness is of me, saith YHWH.
Isa 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsts, come you to the waters, and he that has no money; come
you, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Isa 55:2 Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which
satisfies not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul
delight itself in fatness.
Isa 55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an
everlasting covenant with you, the sure mercies of Dawid.
Isa 55:4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the
people.
Isa 55:5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you know not, and nations that knew not you shall
run unto you because of YHWH your Elohim, and for the Holy One of Yisra’el; for He has
glorified you.
