–  The lighting of the Menorah

Num 8:1 And YHWH spoke unto Moshe, saying,
Num 8:2 Speak unto Aharon, and say unto him, When you light * the lamps, the seven lamps
shall give light unto before the menorah.
Num 8:3 And Aharon did so; he lighted the lamps over before the face of the menorah, as
YHWH commanded * Moshe.
Num 8:4 And this work of the menorah was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the
flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which YHWH had showed *
Moshe, so he made * the menorah.

(Sunday Morning Portion)

–  Cleansing of the Levi

Num 8:5 And YHWH spoke unto Moshe, saying,
Num 8:6 Take * the Levi’im from among the children of Yisra’el, and cleanse them.
Num 8:7 And thus shall you do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon
them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make
themselves clean.
Num 8:8 Then let them take a young bullock with his minkha, fine flour mingled with oil, and
another young bullock shall you take for a sin offering.
Num 8:9 And you shall bring * the Levi’im before the tabernacle of the congregation: and you
shall gather * the whole assembly of the children of Yisra’el together:
Num 8:10 And you shall bring * the Levi’im before YHWH: and the children of Yisra’el shall put
* their hands upon the Levi’im:
Num 8:11 And Aharon shall offer * the Levi’im before YHWH for an offering of the children of
Yisra’el, that they may execute * the service of YHWH.
Num 8:12 And the Levi’im shall lay * their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and you shall
offer * the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto YHWH, to make an
atonement for the Levi’im.
Num 8:13 And you shall set * the Levi’im before Aharon, and before his sons, and offer them
for an offering unto YHWH.
Num 8:14 Thus shall you separate * the Levi’im from among the children of Yisra’el: and the
Levi’im shall be mine.

Reader 2 (Sunday Evening Portion)

–  Levi replacing the firstborn

Num 8:15 And after that shall the Levi’im go in to do the service * of the tabernacle of the
congregation: and you shall cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.
Num 8:16 For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Yisra’el; instead of
such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Yisra’el, have I
taken them unto me.
Num 8:17 For all the firstborn of the children of Yisra’el are mine, both man and beast: on the
day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Mitzrayim I sanctified them for myself.
Num 8:18 And I have taken * the Levi’im for all the firstborn of the children of Yisra’el.
Num 8:19 And I have given * the Levi’im as a gift to Aharon and to his sons from among the
children of Yisra’el, to do * the service of the children of Yisra’el in the tabernacle of the
congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Yisra’el: that there be no plague
among the children of Yisra’el, when the children of Yisra’el come near unto the sanctuary.
Num 8:20 And Moshe, and Aharon, and all the congregation of the children of Yisra’el, did to
the Levi’im according unto all that YHWH commanded * Moshe concerning the Levi’im, so
did the children of Yisra’el unto them.
Num 8:21 And the Levi’im were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aharon offered
them as an offering before YHWH; and Aharon made an atonement for them to cleanse
them.
Num 8:22 And after that went the Levi’im in to do * their service in the tabernacle of the
congregation before Aharon, and before his sons: as YHWH had commanded * Moshe
concerning the Levi’im, so did they unto them.

(Monday Morning Portion)

–  The age of the Levi’im that can serve is given

Num 8:23 And YHWH spoke unto Moshe, saying,
Num 8:24 This is it that belongs unto the Levi’im: from twenty and five years old and upward
they shall go in to wait upon * the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:
Num 8:25 And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service, and shall
serve no more:
Num 8:26 But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep
the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shall you do unto the Levi’im touching their
charge.

Reader 3 (Monday Evening Portion)

–  Pesach remembered

Num 9:1 And YHWH spoke unto Moshe in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the
second year after they were come out of the land of Mitzrayim, saying,
Num 9:2 Let the children of Yisra’el also keep * the passover at His appointed season.
Num 9:3 In the fourteenth day of this month, at even, you shall keep it in His appointed season:
according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall you keep it.
Num 9:4 And Moshe spoke unto the children of Yisra’el, that they should keep the passover.
Num 9:5 And they kept * the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at even in the
wilderness of Sinai: according to all that YHWH commanded * Moshe, so did the children of
Yisra’el.

–  Some men were defiled by a dead body and asked why they couldn’t offer for Pesach

Num 9:6 And there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they
could not keep the passover on that day: and they came before Moshe and before Aharon on
that day:
Num 9:7 And those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore
are we kept back, that we may not offer * an offering of YHWH in His appointed season
among the children of Yisra’el?
Num 9:8 And Moshe said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what YHWH will command
concerning you.

(Tuesday Morning Portion)

–  2nd Pesach ordinance

Num 9:9 And YHWH spoke unto Moshe, saying,
Num 9:10 Speak unto the children of Yisra’el, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity
shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the
passover unto YHWH.
Num 9:11 The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with
unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
Num 9:12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to
all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it.
Num 9:13 But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbears to keep the passover,
even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the
offering of YHWH in His appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.
Num 9:14 And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep the passover unto YHWH;
according to the ordinance of the passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he
do: you shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the
land.

Reader 4 (Tuesday Evening Portion)

–  The Shekinah ordinances for moving

Num 9:15 And on the day that * the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered * the
tabernacle, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were
the appearance of fire, until the morning.
Num 9:16 So it was always: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.
Num 9:17 And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of
Yisra’el journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Yisra’el
pitched their tents.
Num 9:18 At the commandment of YHWH the children of Yisra’el journeyed, and at the
commandment of YHWH they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they
rested in their tents.
Num 9:19 And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of
Yisra’el kept * the charge of YHWH, and journeyed not.
Num 9:20 And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the
commandment of YHWH they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of
YHWH they journeyed.
Num 9:21 And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and the cloud was
taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether by day or by night that the cloud was
taken up, they journeyed.
Num 9:22 Or two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle,
remaining thereon, the children of Yisra’el abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when
it was taken up, they journeyed.
Num 9:23 At the commandment of YHWH they rested in the tents, and at the commandment
of YHWH they journeyed: they kept * the charge of YHWH, at the commandment of YHWH
by the hand of Moshe.

Num 10:2 Make you two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shall you make them: that you may
use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying * of the camps.

–  Sounds of the Trumpets explained

Num 10:3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to
you at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Num 10:4 And if they blow with one trumpet, then the princes, heads of the thousands of
Yisra’el, shall gather themselves unto you.
Num 10:5 When you blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.
Num 10:6 When you blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side
shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.
Num 10:7 But when * the congregation is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall
not sound an alarm.
Num 10:8 And the sons of Aharon, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be
to you for an ordinance forever throughout your generations.
Num 10:9 And if you go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresses you, then you
shall blow an alarm with the shofars; and you shall be remembered before YHWH your
Elohim, and you shall be saved from your enemies.
Num 10:10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of
your months, you shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the
sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your
Elohim: I am YHWH your Elohim.

Num 10:29 And Moshe said unto Chovav, the son of Re’u’el the Midyani, Moshe’s father in law,
We are journeying unto the place of which YHWH said, I will give it you: come you with us,
and we will do you good: for YHWH has spoken good concerning Yisra’el.

kindred.

encamp in the wilderness, and you may be to us instead of eyes.

do unto us, the same will we do unto you.

and let your enemies be scattered; and let them that hate you flee before you.
Num 10:36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O YHWH, unto the many thousands of Yisra’el.

–  Complaining about the manna

Num 11:1 And when the people complained, it displeased YHWH: and YHWH heard it; and His
anger was kindled; and the fire of YHWH burnt among them, and consumed them that were
in the uttermost parts of the camp.
Num 11:2 And the people cried unto Moshe; and when Moshe prayed unto YHWH, the fire was
quenched.
Num 11:3 And he called the name of the place Tav’erah: because the fire of YHWH burnt among
them.
Num 11:4 And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of
Yisra’el also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?
Num 11:5 We remember * the fish, which we did eat in Mitzrayim freely; * the cucumbers, and
the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic:
Num 11:6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our
eyes.
Num 11:7 And the manna was as coriander seed, and the color thereof as the color of bdellium.
Num 11:8 And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a
mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of

me, Carry them in your bosom, as a nursing father bears * the sucking child, unto the land
which you swore unto their fathers?
Num 11:13 From where should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me,
saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.

Num 11:15 And if you deal thus with me, kill me, I pray you, out of hand, if I have found favor in
your sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.
Num 11:16 And YHWH said unto Moshe, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Yisra’el,
whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto
the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with you.
Num 11:17 And I will come down and talk with you there: and I will take of the spirit which is
upon you, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you,
that you bear it not yourself alone.
Num 11:18 And say you unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and you shall
eat flesh: for you have wept in the ears of YHWH, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for
it was well with us in Mitzrayim: therefore YHWH will give you flesh, and you shall eat.
Num 11:19 You shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty
days;
Num 11:20 But even a whole month, until it comes out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome
unto you: because that you have despised * YHWH which is among you, and have wept
before Him, saying, Why came we forth out of Mitzrayim?
Num 11:21 And Moshe said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand
footmen; and you have said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.
Num 11:22 Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or * shall all the

whether my word shall come to pass unto you or not.

–  Elders gathered and Spirit given

seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.
Num 11:25 And YHWH came down in a cloud, and spoke unto him, and took of the spirit that
was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit
rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

–  Yahushua tells Moshe to forbid El’dad and Me’dad to stop prophesizing

Num 11:26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was El’dad,

that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.
Num 11:27 And there ran a young man, and told Moshe, and said, El’dad and Me’dad do
prophesy in the camp.
Num 11:28 And Yahushua the son of Nun, the servant of Moshe, one of his young men,
answered and said, My adon Moshe, forbid them.
Num 11:29 And Moshe said unto him, Envy you for my sake? would Elohim that all YHWH’S
people were prophets, and that YHWH would put * His spirit upon them!

Reader 7 (6th Day Friday Morning Double Portion)

–  Curse of the complaining with quail

Num 11:30 And Moshe got him into the camp, he and the elders of Yisra’el.
Num 11:31 And there went forth a wind from YHWH, and brought quails from the sea, and let
them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey
on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the
earth.
Num 11:32 And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and
they gathered * the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them
all abroad for themselves round about the camp.
Num 11:33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of
YHWH was kindled against the people, and YHWH smote the people with a very great
plague.
Num 11:34 And He called * the name of that place Kivrot-hatta’avah: because there they buried

Chatzerot.

us? And YHWH heard it.
Num 12:3 (Now the man Moshe was very humble, above all the men which were upon the face
of the earth.)
Num 12:4 And YHWH spoke suddenly unto Moshe, and unto Aharon, and unto Miryam, Come
out you three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
Num 12:5 And YHWH came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the
tabernacle, and called Aharon and Miryam: and they both came forth.

–  Servant like Moshe

Num 12:6 And He said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I YHWH will
make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
Num 12:7 My servant Moshe is not so, who is faithful in all my house.
Num 12:8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches;
and the similitude of YHWH shall he behold: wherefore then were you not afraid to speak
against my servant Moshe?
Num 12:9 And the anger of YHWH was kindled against them; and He departed.

–  Miryam punished with leprosy for seven days

leprous, white as snow: and Aharon looked upon Miryam, and, behold, she was leprous.
Num 12:11 And Aharon said unto Moshe, Alas, my adon, I beseech you, lay not the sin upon us,
wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.
Num 12:12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out

Haftarah (Shabbat Evening Portion)

– Vision of the High Priest

Zec 2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Tzi’yon: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of
you, saith YHWH.
Zec 2:11 And many nations shall be joined to YHWH in that day, and shall be my people: and I
will dwell in the midst of you, and you shall know that YHWH Tsebeoath has sent me unto
you.
Zec 2:12 And YHWH shall inherit * Yahudah His portion in the holy land, and shall choose
Yahrushalayim again.
Zec 2:13 Be silent, O all flesh, before YHWH: for He is raised up out of His holy habitation.
Zec 3:1 And he showed me * Yahushua the high priest standing before the angel of YHWH, and
Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
Zec 3:2 And YHWH said unto Satan, YHWH rebuke you, O Satan; even YHWH that has chosen
Yahrushalayim rebuke you: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
Zec 3:3 Now Yahushua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
Zec 3:4 And he answered and spoke unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the
filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused your lawlessness to
pass from you, and I will clothe you with change of raiment.
Zec 3:5 And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his
head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of YHWH stood by.
Zec 3:6 And the angel of YHWH protested unto Yahushua, saying,
Zec 3:7 Thus saith YHWH Tsebeoath; If you will walk in my ways, and if you will keep * my
charge, then you shall also judge * my house, and shall also keep my * courts, and I will give
you places to walk among these that stand by.
Zec 3:8 Hear now, O Yahushua the high priest, you, and your fellows that sit before you: for
they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth * my servant the BRANCH.
Zec 3:9 For behold the stone that I have laid before Yahushua; upon one stone shall be seven
eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith YHWH Tsebeoath, and I will remove *
the lawlessness of that land in one day.
Zec 3:10 In that day, saith YHWH Tsebeoath, shall you call every man his neighbor under the
vine and under the fig tree.
Zec 4:1 And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened
out of his sleep,
Zec 4:2 And said unto me, What see you? And I said, I have looked, and behold a menorah all of
gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the
seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
Zec 4:3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the
left side thereof.
Zec 4:4 So I answered and spoke to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my
adon?
Zec 4:5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Know you not what
these be? And I said, No, my adon.
Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the word of YHWH unto
Zerub’bavel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith YHWH Tsebeoath.
Zec 4:7 Who are you, O great mountain? before Zerub’bavel you shall become a plain: and he
shall bring forth * the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, favor, favor unto it.
