Exo 40:6 And you shall set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of
the tent of the congregation.
Exo 40:7 And you shall set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and
shall put water therein.
Exo 40:8 And you shall set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court
gate.
Exo 40:9 And you shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is
therein, and shall hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.
Exo 40:10 And you shall anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all his vessels, and
sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy.
Exo 40:11 And you shall anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it.
Exo 40:12 And you shall bring Aharon and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation, and wash them with water.
Exo 40:13 And you shall put upon Aharon the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify
him; that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.
Exo 40:14 And you shall bring his sons, and clothe them with coats:
Exo 40:15 And you shall anoint them, as you did anoint their father, that they may minister
unto me in the priest’s office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood
throughout their generations.
Exo 40:16 Thus did Moshe: according to all that YHWH commanded him, so did he.
Exo 40:17 And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the
month, that the tabernacle was reared up.
Exo 40:18 And Moshe reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the
boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars.
Exo 40:19 And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the
tent above upon it; as YHWH commanded Moshe.
Exo 40:20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and
put the mercy seat above upon the ark:
Exo 40:21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering,
and covered the ark of the testimony; as YHWH commanded Moshe.
Exo 40:22 And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the side of the
tabernacle northward, outside the vail.
Exo 40:23 And he set the bread in order upon it before YHWH; as YHWH had commanded
Moshe.
Exo 40:24 And he put the menorah in the tent of the congregation, over against the table, on
the side of the tabernacle southward.
Exo 40:25 And he lighted the lamps before YHWH; as YHWH commanded Moshe.
Exo 40:26 And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation before the vail:
Exo 40:27 And he burnt sweet incense thereon; as YHWH commanded Moshe.
Exo 40:28 And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle.
Exo 40:29 And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of
the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the minkha; as YHWH
commanded Moshe.
Exo 40:30 And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put
water there, to wash.
Exo 40:31 And Moshe and Aharon and his sons washed their hands and their feet there:
Exo 40:32 When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto
the altar, they washed; as YHWH commanded Moshe.
Exo 40:33 And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up
the hanging of the court gate. So Moshe finished the work.
Exo 40:34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of YHWH filled
the tabernacle.
Exo 40:35 And Moshe was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the
cloud abode thereon, and the glory of YHWH filled the tabernacle.
Exo 40:36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of
Yisra’el went onward in all their journeys:
Exo 40:37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was
taken up.
Exo 40:38 For the cloud of YHWH was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by
night, in the sight of all the house of Yisra’el, throughout all their journeys.

Haftarah (Shabbat Evening Portion)

1Ki 7:40 And Chiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So Chiram made an
end of doing all the work that he made king Shlomo for the house of YHWH:
1Ki 7:41 The two pillars, and the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the two
pillars; and the two networks, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters which were upon the
top of the pillars;
1Ki 7:42 And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, even two rows of
pomegranates for one network, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that were upon the
pillars;
1Ki 7:43 And the ten bases, and ten lavers on the bases;
1Ki 7:44 And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;
1Ki 7:45 And the pots, and the shovels, and the basons: and all these vessels, which Chiram
made to king Shlomo for the house of YHWH, were of bright copper.
1Ki 7:46 In the plain of Yarden did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Sukkot
and Tzaretan.
1Ki 7:47 And Shlomo left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many:
neither was the weight of the copper found out.
1Ki 7:48 And Shlomo made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of YHWH: the altar
of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the showbread was,
1Ki 7:49 And the menorah of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the
oracle, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,
1Ki 7:50 And the bowls, and the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers of
pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place,
and for the doors of the house, of the temple.
1Ki 7:51 So was ended all the work that king Shlomo made for the house of YHWH. And
Shlomo brought in the things which Dawid his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the
gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of YHWH.
1Ki 8:1 Then Shlomo assembled the elders of Yisra’el, and all the heads of the tribes, the
chief of the fathers of the children of Yisra’el, unto king Shlomo in Yahrushalayim, that they
might bring up the ark of the covenant of YHWH out of the city of Dawid, which is Tziyon.
1Ki 8:2 And all the men of Yisra’el assembled themselves unto king Shlomo at the feast in
the month Etanim, which is the seventh month.
1Ki 8:3 And all the elders of Yisra’el came, and the priests took up the ark.
1Ki 8:4 And they brought up the ark of YHWH, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and
all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levi’im
bring up.
1Ki 8:5 And king Shlomo, and all the congregation of Yisra’el, that were assembled unto
him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor
numbered for multitude.
1Ki 8:6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of YHWH unto his place, into the
oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the keruvim.
1Ki 8:7 For the keruvim spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the
keruvim covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
1Ki 8:8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy
place before the oracle, and they were not seen outside: and there they are unto this day.
1Ki 8:9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moshe put there at
Chorev, when YHWH made a covenant with the children of Yisra’el, when they came out of
the land of Mitzrayim.
1Ki 8:10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the
cloud filled the house of YHWH,
1Ki 8:11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of
YHWH had filled the house of YHWH.
1Ki 8:12 Then spoke Shlomo, YHWH said that He would dwell in the thick darkness.
1Ki 8:13 I have surely built you a house to dwell in, a settled place for you to abide in forever.
1Ki 8:14 And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Yisra’el:
(and all the congregation of Yisra’el stood;)
1Ki 8:15 And he said, Blessed be YHWH Elohim of Yisra’el, which spoke with His mouth
unto Dawid my father, and has with His hand fulfilled it, saying,
1Ki 8:16 Since the day that I brought forth my people Yisra’el out of Mitzrayim, I chose no
city out of all the tribes of Yisra’el to build a house, that my name might be therein; but I
chose Dawid to be over my people Yisra’el.
1Ki 8:17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of YHWH
Elohim of Yisra’el.
1Ki 8:18 And YHWH said unto Dawid my father, Whereas it was in your heart to build a
house unto my name, you did well that it was in your heart.
1Ki 8:19 Nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son that shall come forth out of
your loins, he shall build the house unto my name.
1Ki 8:20 And YHWH has performed His word that He spoke, and I am risen up in the room
of Dawid my father, and sit on the throne of Yisra’el, as YHWH promised, and have built a
house for the name of YHWH Elohim of Yisra’el.
1Ki 8:21 And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of YHWH, which
He made with our fathers, when He brought them out of the land of Mitzrayim.
