Vezot Ha’Bracha

Vezot ha’Bracha “And this is the blessing”

Deut 33:1 – 34:12 , Joshua 1:1 – 18

Reader 1 (Evening Portion)
Deu 33:1 And this is the blessing, wherewith Moshe the man of Elohim blessed * the children of
Yisra’el before his death.
Deu 33:2 And he said, YHWH came from Sinai, and rose up from Se’ir unto them; He shined
forth from mount Paran, and He came with ten thousands of saints: from His right hand
went a fiery law for them.
Deu 33:3 Yea, He loved the people; all His saints are in your hand: and they sat down at your
feet; everyone shall receive of your words.
Deu 33:4 Moshe commanded us a law, the inheritance of the congregation of Ya’akov.
Deu 33:5 And he was king in Yeshurun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Yisra’el
were gathered together.
(Morning Portion)
Deu 33:6 Let Re’uven live, and not die; and let not his men be few.
Deu 33:7 And this is the blessing of Yahudah: and he said, Hear, YHWH, the voice of Yahudah,
and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be you a help to him
from his enemies.
Reader 2 (Evening Portion)
Deu 33:8 And of Levi he said, Let your Tummim and your Urim be with your holy one, whom
you did prove at Massah, and with whom you did strive at the waters of Merivah;
Deu 33:9 Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he
acknowledge his brethren, nor know his own children: for they have observed your word,
and kept your covenant.
Deu 33:10 They shall teach Ya’akov your judgments, and Yisra’el your law: they shall put
incense before you, and whole burnt sacrifice upon your altar.
Deu 33:11 Bless, YHWH, his substance, and accept the work of his hands: smite through the
loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again.
(Morning Portion)
Deu 33:12 And of Benyamin he said, The beloved of YHWH shall dwell in safety by Him; and
YHWH shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between His shoulders.
Reader 3 (Evening Portion)
Deu 33:13 And of Yosef he said, Blessed of YHWH be his land, for the precious things of
heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that couches beneath,
Deu 33:14 And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put
forth by the moon,

Deu 33:15 And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the
lasting hills,
Deu 33:16 And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of
him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Yosef, and upon the top
of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.
(Morning Portion)
Deu 33:17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of wild
bulls: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the
ten thousands of Efrayim, and they are the thousands of Manasheh.
Reader 4 (Evening Portion)
Deu 33:18 And of Zevulun he said, Rejoice, Zevulun, in your going out; and, Yissakhar, in your
tents.
Deu 33:19 They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of
righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the
sand.
(Morning Portion)
Deu 33:20 And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlarges Gad: he dwells as a lion, and tears
the arm with the crown of the head.
Deu 33:21 And he provided the first part for himself, because there, in a portion of the lawgiver,
was he seated; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of YHWH,
and his judgments with Yisra’el.
Reader 5 (Evening Portion)
Deu 33:22 And of Dan he said, Dan is a lion’s whelp: he shall leap from Bashan.
Deu 33:23 And of Naftali he said, O Naftali, satisfied with favor, and full with the blessing of
YHWH: possess you the west and the south.
(Morning Portion)
Deu 33:24 And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his
brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.
Deu 33:25 Your shoes shall be iron and copper; and as Your days, so shall your strength be.
Deu 33:26 There is none like unto the Elohim of Yeshurun, who rides upon the heaven in your
help, and in His excellency on the sky.
Reader 6 (Evening Portion)
Deu 33:27 The eternal Elohim is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and He
shall thrust out the enemy from before you; and shall say, Destroy them.
Deu 33:28 Yisra’el then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Ya’akov shall be upon a land
of grain and wine; also His heavens shall drop down dew.

Deu 33:29 Happy are you, O Yisra’el: who is like unto you, O people saved by YHWH, the
shield of your help, and who is the sword of your excellency! and your enemies shall be
found liars unto you; and you shall tread upon their high places.
Reader 7 (6th Day Morning Portion)
Deu 34:1 And Moshe went up from the plains of Moav unto the mountain of Nevo, to the top of
Pisgah, that is over against Yericho. And YHWH showed him * all the land * of Gil’ad, unto
Dan,
Deu 34:2 And all Naftali, and the land of Efrayim, and Manasheh, and all the land of Yahudah,
unto the utmost sea,
Deu 34:3 And the south, and the plain of the valley of Yericho, the city of palm trees, unto
Tzo’ar.
Deu 34:4 And YHWH said unto him, This is the land which I swore unto Avraham, unto
Yitzchak, and unto Ya’akov, saying, I will give it unto your seed: I have caused you to see it
with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.
Deu 34:5 So Moshe the servant of YHWH died there in the land of Moav, according to the word
of YHWH.
Deu 34:6 And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moav, over against Beit-Pe’or: but no
man knows of * his sepulchre unto this day.
Deu 34:7 And Moshe was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim,
nor his natural force abated.
Deu 34:8 And the children of Yisra’el wept for * Moshe in the plains of Moav thirty days: so the
days of weeping and mourning for Moshe were ended.
Deu 34:9 And Yahushua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moshe had laid *
his hands upon him: and the children of Yisra’el hearkened unto him, and did as YHWH
commanded * Moshe.
Deu 34:10 And there arose not a prophet since in Yisra’el like unto Moshe, whom YHWH knew
face to face,
Deu 34:11 In all the signs and the wonders, which YHWH sent him to do in the land of
Mitzrayim to Par’oh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,
Deu 34:12 And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moshe showed in the
sight of all Yisra’el.
Haftarah (Shabbat Evening Portion)
Jos 1:1 Now after the death of Moshe the servant of YHWH it came to pass, that YHWH spoke
unto Yahushua the son of Nun, Moshes’ minister, saying,
Jos 1:2 Moshe my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over * this Yarden, you, and all this
people, unto the land which I do give to them, to the children of Yisra’el.
Jos 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I
said unto Moshe.

Jos 1:4 From the wilderness and this Levanon even unto the great river, the river Perat, all the
land of the Chitti, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your
coast.
Jos 1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life: as I was
with Moshe, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you.
Jos 1:6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto * this people shall you divide for an
inheritance *the land, which I swore unto their fathers to give them.
Jos 1:7 Only be you strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the
law, which Moshe my servant commanded you: turn not from it to the right hand or to the
left, that you may prosper where ever you go.
Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein
day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then
you shall make * your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.
Jos 1:9 Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be
you dismayed: for YHWH your Elohim is with you where ever you go.
Jos 1:10 Then Yahushua commanded * the officers of the people, saying,
Jos 1:11 Pass through the host, and command * the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for
within three days you shall pass over * this Yarden, to go in to possess * the land, which
YHWH your Elohim gives you to possess it.
Jos 1:12 And to the Re’uveni, and to the Gadi, and to half the tribe of Manasheh, spoke
Yahushua, saying,
Jos 1:13 Remember * the word which Moshe the servant of YHWH commanded you, saying,
YHWH your Elohim has given you rest, and has given you * this land.
Jos 1:14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moshe gave
you on this side Yarden; but you shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men
of valor, and help them;
Jos 1:15 Until YHWH have given your brethren rest, as He has given you, and they also have
possessed * the land which YHWH your Elohim gives them: then you shall return unto the
land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moshe YHWH’S servant gave you on this side
Yarden toward the sunrising.
Jos 1:16 And they answered * Yahushua, saying, All that you command us we will do, and where
ever you send us, we will go.
Jos 1:17 According as we hearkened unto Moshe in all things, so will we hearken unto you: only
YHWH your Elohim be with you, as He was with Moshe.
Jos 1:18 Whosoever he be that does rebel against * your commandment, and will not hearken
unto * your words in all that you command him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and
of a good courage.
