This week’s parashat is the 4th parashat in the book of Vayikra also called Leviticus, and is called Tazria which means ‘Conceived’.

Lev 12:1 And YHWH spoke unto Moshe, saying,
Lev 12:2 Speak unto the children of Yisra’el, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and
born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the
separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.

Lev 12:3 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
Lev 12:4 And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she
shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying
be fulfilled.
Lev 12:5 But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her
separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying sixty and six days.

Lev 12:6 And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she
shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove,
for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:
Lev 12:7 Who shall offer it before YHWH, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be
cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that has born a male or a female.
Lev 12:8 And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two
young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest
shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

Lev 13:1 And YHWH spoke unto Moshe and Aharon, saying,
Lev 13:2 When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot, and it
be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aharon
the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests:
Lev 13:3 And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in
the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a
plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.
Lev 13:4 If the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper than
the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall shut up him that
hath the plague seven days:
Lev 13:5 And the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague in his
sight be at a stay, and the plague spread not in the skin; then the priest shall shut him up
seven days more:
Lev 13:6 And the priest shall look on him again the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague
be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him
clean: it is but a scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.
Lev 13:7 But if the scab spread much abroad in the skin, after that he has been seen of the
priest for his cleansing, he shall be seen of the priest again:
Lev 13:8 And if the priest see that, behold, the scab spreads in the skin, then the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a leprosy.
Lev 13:9 When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought unto the priest;
Lev 13:10 And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the rising be white in the skin, and it
have turned the hair white, and there be quick raw flesh in the rising;
Lev 13:11 It is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the priest shall pronounce him
unclean, and shall not shut him up: for he is unclean.
Lev 13:12 And if a leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of
him that hath the plague from his head even to his foot, wheresoever the priest looks;
Lev 13:13 Then the priest shall consider: and, behold, if the leprosy have covered all his
flesh, he shall pronounce him clean that has the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean.
Lev 13:14 But when raw flesh appears in him, he shall be unclean.
Lev 13:15 And the priest shall see the raw flesh, and pronounce him to be unclean: for the
raw flesh is unclean: it is a leprosy.
Lev 13:16 Or if the raw flesh turn again, and be changed unto white, he shall come unto the
priest;
Lev 13:17 And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the plague be turned into white; then
the priest shall pronounce him clean that has the plague: he is clean.

Lev 13:18 The flesh also, in which, even in the skin thereof, was a boil, and is healed,
Lev 13:19 And in the place of the boil there be a white rising, or a bright spot, white, and

hair thereof be turned white; the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague of
leprosy broken out of the boil.

Lev 13:21 But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hairs therein, and if it
be not lower than the skin, but be somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut him up seven

Lev 13:22 And if it spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him
unclean: it is a plague.
Lev 13:23 But if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not, it is a burning boil; and the
priest shall pronounce him clean.

Lev 13:24 Or if there be any flesh, in the skin whereof there is a hot burning, and the quick
flesh that burns have a white bright spot, somewhat reddish, or white;

turned white, and it be in sight deeper than the skin; it is a leprosy broken out of the
burning: wherefore the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy.

Lev 13:28 And if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not in the skin, but it be
somewhat dark; it is a rising of the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him clean: for it
is an inflammation of the burning.

Lev 13:29 If a man or woman have a plague upon the head or the beard;
Lev 13:30 Then the priest shall see the plague: and, behold, if it be in sight deeper than the
skin; and there be in it a yellow thin hair; then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a
dry scall, even a leprosy upon the head or beard.
Lev 13:31 And if the priest look on the plague of the scall, and, behold, it be not in sight
deeper than the skin, and that there is no black hair in it; then the priest shall shut up him

Lev 13:35 But if the scall spread much in the skin after his cleansing;

Lev 13:37 But if the scall be in his sight at a stay, and that there is black hair grown up
therein; the scall is healed, he is clean: and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

Lev 13:38 If a man also or a woman have in the skin of their flesh bright spots, even white
bright spots;
Lev 13:39 Then the priest shall look: and, behold, if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh
be darkish white; it is a freckled spot that grows in the skin; he is clean.

Lev 13:40 And the man whose hair is fallen off his head, he is bald; yet is he clean.
Lev 13:41 And he that has his hair fallen off from the part of his head toward his face, he is
forehead bald: yet is he clean.
Lev 13:42 And if there be in the bald head, or bald forehead, a white reddish sore; it is a
leprosy sprung up in his bald head, or his bald forehead.
Lev 13:43 Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the rising of the sore be white
reddish in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the leprosy appears in the skin of the
flesh;
Lev 13:44 He is a leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall pronounce him utterly
unclean; his plague is in his head.
Lev 13:45 And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare,

Lev 13:46 All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean:

Lev 13:47 The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it be a woollen
garment, or a linen garment;
Lev 13:48 Whether it be in the warp, or woof; of linen, or of woollen; whether in a skin, or
in anything made of skin;
Lev 13:49 And if the plague be greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, either in
the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin; it is a plague of leprosy, and shall be showed
unto the priest:
Lev 13:50 And the priest shall look upon the plague, and shut up it that has the plague
seven days:
Lev 13:51 And he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the
garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in a skin, or in any work that is made of skin;
the plague is a fretting leprosy; it is unclean.
Lev 13:52 He shall therefore burn that garment, whether warp or woof, in woollen or in
linen, or anything of skin, wherein the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt
in the fire.
Lev 13:53 And if the priest shall look, and, behold, the plague be not spread in the garment,
either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin;
Lev 13:54 Then the priest shall command that they wash the thing wherein the plague is,
and he shall shut it up seven days more:

Lev 13:55 And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the
plague have not changed his color, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; you shall
burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.
Lev 13:56 And if the priest look, and, behold, the plague be somewhat dark after the
washing of it; then he shall rend it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp,
or out of the woof:
Lev 13:57 And if it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any
thing of skin; it is a spreading plague: you shall burn that wherein the plague is with fire.
Lev 13:58 And the garment, either warp, or woof, or whatsoever thing of skin it be, which
you shall wash, if the plague be departed from them, then it shall be washed the second
time, and shall be clean.
Lev 13:59 This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in
the warp, or woof, or anything of skins, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

2Ki 4:42 And there came a man from Ba’alshalisha, and brought the man of Elohim bread
of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he
said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.
2Ki 4:43 And his servitor said, What, should I set this before a hundred men? He said
again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith YHWH, They shall eat, and shall
leave thereof.
2Ki 4:44 So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of
YHWH.
2Ki 5:1 Now Na’aman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his
master, and honorable, because by him YHWH had given deliverance unto Syria: he was
also a mighty man in valor, but he was a leper.
2Ki 5:2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of
the land of Yisra’el a little maid; and she waited on Na’aman’s wife.
2Ki 5:3 And she said unto her mistress, Would Elohim my lord were with the prophet that
is in Shomron! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
2Ki 5:4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the
land of Yisra’el.
2Ki 5:5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Yisra’el.
And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold,
and ten changes of raiment.
2Ki 5:6 And he brought the letter to the king of Yisra’el, saying, Now when this letter is
come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Na’aman my servant to you, that you may
recover him of his leprosy.
2Ki 5:7 And it came to pass, when the king of Yisra’el had read the letter, that he rent his
clothes, and said, Am I Elohim, to kill and to make alive, that this man does send unto me to
recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeks a quarrel
against me.
2Ki 5:8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of Elohim had heard that the king of Yisra’el
had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Why have you rent your clothes? let
him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Yisra’el.
2Ki 5:9 So Na’aman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the
house of Elisha.
2Ki 5:10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Yarden seven
times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.
2Ki 5:11 But Na’aman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely
come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of YHWH his Elohim, and strike his hand
over the place, and recover the leper.
2Ki 5:12 Are not Amanah and Parpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of
Yisra’el? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
2Ki 5:13 And his servants came near, and spoke unto him, and said, My father, if the
prophet had bid you do some great thing, would you not have done it? how much rather
then, when he saith to you, Wash, and be clean?
2Ki 5:14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the
saying of the man of Elohim: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and
he was clean.
2Ki 5:15 And he returned to the man of Elohim, he and all his company, and came, and
stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no Elohim in all the earth,
but in Yisra’el: now therefore, I pray you, take a blessing of your servant.
2Ki 5:16 But he said, As YHWH lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he
urged him to take it; but he refused.
2Ki 5:17 And Na’aman said, Shall there not then, I pray you, be given to your servant two
mules’ burden of earth? for your servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor
sacrifice unto other gods, but unto YHWH.
2Ki 5:18 In this thing YHWH pardon your servant, that when my master goes into the
house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house
of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, YHWH pardon your servant
in this thing.
2Ki 5:19 And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.
